At AIXTRON, we combine expertise and innovation required to develop highly complex technologies. With the most productive MOCVD systems in the world, we are enabling future applications, such as the LEDs, power electronics, and photovoltaic materials.
We encourage a creative and sometimes an even revolutionary approach to delivering customer solutions. We take progress personally. The only limitations we accept are the laws of physics. In close collaboration with renowned research centers, universities and industry partners, we continue to push the boundaries in this scientific field. And that is how we pursue technological advances for our customers every day.
AIXTRON has a total of four cutting-edge research and development laboratories in Herzogenrath (Germany), Cambridge (UK), Sunnyvale (US) and Suzhou (China). All are equipped with the latest systems for developing new processes, materials, and production methods. Close collaboration with our international sales and service branch offices ensures that we pursue customer-oriented product development.
In the area of compound semiconductors, our product portfolio offers MOCVD production and research systems with a Planetary Reactor or Close Coupled Showerhead concept for manufacturing LEDs, solar cells, and power electronics.
In the area of silicon semiconductors, AIXTRON offers two process technologies. You can use Atomic Layer Deposition (ALD) or Chemical Vapor Deposition (CVD) to manufacture logic chips, DRAM, eDRAM, flash and MIM memory storage units, as well as thin-film scanning heads.
AIXTRON offers revolutionary technologies for controlled small-molecule deposition. These are especially effective for material systems used to produce organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs), as well as for the controlled deposition of polymer-based coating systems.
Organic Vapor Phase Deposition (OVPD) is an innovative technology for the thin-film deposition of organic small molecules based on the gas phase transport principle.
Polymer Vapor Phase Deposition (PVPD) is a technology for the controlled deposition and in-situ interlinking of polymer-based thin-film structures.
OPTACAP technology is based on plasma-enhanced CVD deposition and employs a proprietary source design which combines scalability with high throughput at low process temperatures and yields inorganic barrier films with excellent flexibility.
Anton Paar TriTec SA (previously CSM Instruments) has been leader in the development of instruments for surface mechanical properties characterization for over 30 years in both research and industrial fields.
CSM Instruments develops, manufactures and sells instruments to characterize mechanical properties of surfaces. We have been the world leader in this market for more than 30 years, first under the name of LSRH then CSEM.
CSM Instruments provides equipment that allows the mechanical characterization of a wide range of surfaces and bulk materials. Adhesion of paints, optical thin films or hard coatings can be defined using one of our Scratch Testers. These span the nano to the macro range to analyze the widest range of materials. Dynamic testing measurements can be performed to define not only the hardness of the material, but also to evaluate the plastic and elastic deformation, the elasticity module, creep and much more. For wear testing we offer the Tribometer, based on the pin-on-disc principle that operates both in the Micro and Nano regime; to record the frictional coefficient and measure the wear volume. Other equipment measures film thickness. Additionally, CSM provides three dimensional viewing capabilities of sample surfaces under most testing regimes.

Applied Multilayers LLC offers next generation optical coating sputtering systems for high quality optical and metal coatings. Our patented Closed Field Magnetron (CFM) sputtering technology is simple, scalable and significantly less expensive. CFM allows multilayered film coatings onto sensitive polymer substrates or plastics which other deposition technologies would consider prohibitive due the elevated plasma temperatures.
You will discover numerous applications such as durable IR coatings, durable visible AR coatings, high laser damage coatings, ophthalmic, electro-chromic and solar absorbers. CFM also readily deposits thin film oxides, nitrides, carbides or pure metals with near bulk film densification with no film stress.

Asahi Spectra Co. (ASC) was founded in 1970 in Tokyo, Japan by 3 engineers. ASC has been developing a vacuum deposition technology such as ion assisted deposition (IAD) and ion beam sputtering (IBS) , which achieve hard coating, excellent durability for environment (humidity, low or high temperature, thermal shock or vacuum) and stability of spectral performance. By now our optical filters have contributed in various markets such as astronomy, semiconductor, biotechnology, education and so on.
Nowadays, customer requirements are becoming more complicated as optical innovation advances, and most requirements cannot be satisfied by just optical filter technology. So we have been trying to expand our field to optical instruments based on our 40 years accumulated optical know-how as you can see how professional our optical instruments are.
Our integrated manufacturing process by both filter and instrument specialists is the most competitive advantage against “other only-optical-filter makers”.
Asahi Spectra USA Inc. was established in January, 2005 in California in order to distribute the Asahi Spectra brand in USA and all over the world. Major Customers in the US include:

Since 1924, Cargille Laboratories has been providing specialized services to a broad range of laboratory sciences. Cargille develops and manufactures optical liquids calibrated for refractive indices for use throughout the many laboratory disciplines involving microscopy and optics. Advances for the microscopy field continually develop from Cargille Laboratories’ research.
Cargille has also consistently led in the development and standardization of immersion oils for over 50 years. Cargille immersion oils meet or exceed the ISO 8036-1 Standard, and in fact, Cargille served as a member of the U.S. delegation to the International Standards Organization and helped write the ISO specifications for immersion oils in conjunction with microscope manufacturers, experts, and users worldwide.
Other major products which Cargille concentrates on include highly stable Laser Liquids, mounting medias, optical gels, fused silica matching liquids, comminuted optical glass & mineralogical reference standards, viscosity tubes, beakers, Sink-Floats®, Heavy Liquids®, and other scientific and laboratory specialties.
Delmic B.V. is a company based in Delft, the Netherlands that produces correlative light and electron microscopy solutions. Currently, DELMIC produces three systems, the SECOM, a platform for integrated fluourescence and electron microscopy, the SPARC, a high-performance cathodolumiscence detection system, and the Delphi, the world’s first fully integrated fluourescence and scanning electron microscope and the product of a collaboration with Phenom-World. These systems are also accompanied by ODEMIS, open-source software designed to navigate the integrated microscopy systems and to optimize image overlay.
Delmic originated as a result of the development of the SECOM platform, an integrated fluorescence and scanning electron microscope which was conceived by Charged Particle Optics group of Delft University of Technology. At the end of 2011 the company obtained the SPARC system from the Photonic Materials Group group at AMOLF. At the International Microscopy Conference in 2014, DELMIC also launched the Delphi system, a tabletop correlative microscopy solution that, like SECOM, combines a scanning electron microscope with fluorescence microscopy.
High quality products are the keystone of Delta Optical Thin Film’s success. Our quality management system ensures control and documentation of processes and products throughout the whole design and production process.
We use an ERP system to manage the entire supply chain process including customers and suppliers, order handling, forecasting, reporting and communication.
Our development team is able to make extremely precise predictions of, for example, phase retardation, and uses other dedicated techniques, helping customers make unique instruments.
Our customers and stakeholders expect us to maintain high business ethics, to fulfil our obligations and to act with complete integrity. Our environmental and CSR policy are our tools to fulfill these obligations.
