Measurement of Thermal Conductivity of Natural Fiber Composites

K. Ramanaiah, Srinivas Prasad Sanaka, A.V. Ratna Prasad, K. Hemachandra Reddy

The conventional materials are replaced with natural composites in energy saving applications due to their good insulation properties against heat transfer and the higher specific strength. In this chapter, the extraction of natural fibers, preparation of composites was discussed. The process of measurement of thermal conductivity of composites is elucidated. Based on the test data, natural polymer composites are promising composite materials for energy saving applications.
