About the Editors

Dr. Soundara Balu is a Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamilnadu, INDIA. She has obtained BE in Civil Engineering from Alagappa Chettiar College of Engineering and Technology, Karaikudi, India in 2002, Masters in Soil Mechanics and Foundation Engineering from College of Engineering Guindy, Anna University in 2004, and Ph.D in Geotechnical Engineering from IIT Madras in 2010. After working for about 2 years in UAE, she has joined as Assistant Professor and HoD at SKR Engineering College Chennai (2012-15) and then joined BIT in 2015. Her research interest includes study on the behaviour of problematic soils, various ground improvement methods and Physical modelling of geostructures. She has received Grants from various government funding agencies like AICTE, DST NIMAT, SERB, and TNSCST and was the recipient of the Early Career Research Award from Science and Engineering Research Board in 2016. She has published around 30 peer-reviewed journal papers, 35 conference papers, 3 book chapters and filed 3 patents. She is an active reviewer in 5 leading journals, and chaired technical sessions in 3 International conferences. She has guided 2 Ph.D scholars and guiding 8 members, at present. She is a professional member of American Society of Civil Engineers, International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering, Indian Geotechnical Society and Indian Society for Technical Education.
Dr. M. Vasudevan is currently working as Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Civil Engineering at Bannari Amman Institute of Technology Sathyamangalam, Tamil Nadu, India with a teaching experience of 6 years. He obtained his bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering from Kerala Agricultural University, India in 2007, followed by master’s degree (M.Tech.) in Environmental Engineering from Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology Allahabad, India in 2009. He completed his Ph.D. from Indian Institute of Technology Madras in 2015 in the area of Environmental Engineering. He has published about 45 research papers in peer-reviewed international journals and 70 international/national conferences. He has also authored 8 book chapters and co-edited 2 books. He is a professional member of Indian Geotechnical Society and Indian Society for Technical Education and Indian Water Works Association.
Mr. V. Jeevanantham is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamilnadu, INDIA. He has obtained BE in civil engineering from Thanthai Periyar Government Institute of Technology, Vellore, INDIA in 2013, masters in Geotechnical Engineering from Government College of Technology, Coimbatore, INDIA in 2015. He started his professional carrier as assistant professor and presently with 6 years of experience in teaching. His research interest includes study on the behaviour of problematic soils and various ground improvement methods. He has published around 8 peer-reviewed journal papers, 9 conference papers and filed 1 patent. He is extending his service to the society as Soil Consultant, carrying out field tests for commercial building construction at his working locality. He is a professional member of Indian Geotechnical Society, Coimbatore Chapter.
Mrs. V. Preetha is Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil Engineering, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Tamilnadu, INDIA. She obtained BE in Civil Engineering from Kongu Engineering College, Erode, INDIA in 2006, masters in structural engineering from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Erode, India in 2009 and pursuing her Ph.D in structural engineering from Anna University. Having worked for about 1 year in Jain Housing and Construction as Quantity surveyor, she joined Larsen and Toubro Pvt Limited, ECC division, Headquarters, Manapakkam Campus as Senior Design Engineer during 2009 to 2011 and then joined BIT in 2012. Her research interests include earthquake engineering, steel concrete composite structures and structural design. She has published around 15 peer-reviewed journal papers, 20 conference papers, 1 book chapters and filed 2 patents. Her service includes field studies in the area of concrete technology and non-destructive testing methods as consultancy projects. She is a professional member of Institution of Engineers India, Indian Geotechnical Society and Indian Society for Technical Education.
