Investigation on Structural, Electrical and Magnetic Properties of Copper Substituted Nickel Nanoferrites

Rapolu Sridhar, D. Ravinder, K. Vijaya Kumar, G. Helen Ruth Joice

Ni1-xCuxFe2O4 (0.0 ≤ x ≤1.0) nanoferrites were prepared using citrate-gel auto combustion technique. The effect of Cu substitution on the magnetic properties, dielectric properties as well as structural parameters like lattice constant, hopping length and X-ray density were reported and discussed. The surface morphology and elemental analysis of prepared compositions were examined using SEM and EDAX analysis. Electrical properties such as dc resistivity, drift mobility and Seebeck coefficient were reported as function of temperature and composition, it is explained with hopping mechanism between Fe2+Fe3+ ions and the activation energy was measured in the ferrimagnetic and paramagnetic regions.
