Parr Instrument Company is a privately held corporation located at 211-53rd Street, Moline, Illinois, engaged in the design, manufacture and sale of laboratory instruments and apparatus for testing fuels and for conducting chemical reactions and tests under heat and pressure.
Parr reactors and pressure vessels include both standard designs and custom-built equipment in laboratory and pilot plant sizes. Uses for this equipment are found in a broad range of chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical and biotech research, development and control laboratories.
Parr calorimeters are used for testing a variety of solid and liquid fuels, foodstuffs and other combustible materials. Many unique designs and highly automated instrumentation have been added to its expanding lines of fuel testing instruments.
As evidence of its export activity, the U.S. Department of Commerce issued the President’s ‘E’ Award to the company in 1982 for its contribution to the export program of the United States. A supplemental ‘E Star’ followed this Award in 1988 for the company’s continued growth in the export field. Over sixty percent of all Parr sales now go to users outside of the United States. Parr’s Overall Quality Assurance System has been certified to be in compliance with ISO 9001:2008 for Total Quality Procedures. Parr also holds ASME and European PED Certification for pressure vessel design and testing, and CSA Certification for electrical safety.

Metalcraft have been manufacturing pressure vessels on our UK site for over 100 years and during this time have developed a wealth of knowledge and experience on the manufacturing techniques necessary to effectively and efficiently produce pressure vessels to the highest standards required by the sectors we serve. In addition to the pressure vessels we manufacture, we also manufacture vacuum vessels and cryogenic vessels using a number of similar techniques required for pressure vessel manufacture. The vacuum vessels and cryogenic vessels we produce are generally fabricated and machined in order to achieve the required vacuum leak tightness.

Twente Solid State Technology (TSST) was founded in 1998 as a spin-off company from the University of Twente, and offers high quality thin film solutions. As a result TSST products can now be found around the world.
TSST wants to contribute to the progress in the worldwide scientific community of advanced thin film materials by providing state-of-the-art deposition equipment, with focus on pulsed laser deposition, and developing and sharing relevant expertise
The company is specialised in design and production of customised thin film deposition equipment, specifically Pulsed Laser Deposition equipment for advanced studies. An example is the use of Reflection High Energy Electron Diffraction (RHEED) under high-pressure conditions, which gives real-time information about the surface morphology during depositions.
Every system can be controlled through a central console, giving full control of all parameters involved. This allows the rapid replication of settings and depositions, which results a higher reliability in less time.
Apart from the equipment, the company also produces ceramic thin films, and offers services for research in the field of ceramic thin films, such as the surface treatment of ceramic substrates. TSST is able to provide these services due to the strong cooperation with the MESA+ institute at the University of Twente.
UIC, Inc. was established by Jerold Armstrong in 1965 as a manufacturer’s representative firm and has grown into a full manufacturing and R&D facility.UIC manufactures coulometric carbon and sulfur analysis systems, vapor pressure osmometers, and kinematic/dynamic viscosity systems.
Products and Markets:
The primary products for UIC are the coulometric carbon analysis systems. These systems are used extensively by the university, geological, oceanographic, petroleum and cleanliness verification markets. The carbon analysis systems have the ability to determine total carbon (TC), total organic carbon (TOC), total inorganic carbon (TIC) and surface carbon (SC) in solids, liquids, slurries and gases.
The coulometric detection system operates on the principles of Faraday’s Law and provides calibration free analysis of practically any material. Typical analysis times range from 5 to 8 minutes utilizing sample sizes from 10ug to 3g. The detection range for these systems is 10ug to 100mg of carbon per sample. This translates to an effective analytical range of 10ppm to 100% and will provide relative standard deviations below 0.2% when analyzing standard materials.
The osmometers are used primarily in the university and polymer manufacturing markets as a way to determine average molecular weights of soluble polymers from 100 to 1,000,000 Dalton.
The viscosity systems are used to determine kinematic viscosities of Newtonian fluids in the range of 0.3 to 100,000 centistokes.
