Freiberg Instruments is now one of the world’s fastest growing, young and dynamic analytical instrumentation companies with products covering a broad spectrum of applications in fields/industries like Semiconductor, Microelectronics, Photovoltaic, Dosimetry, Medical Research, Luminescence Dating, X-ray diffraction, Material Research and Electron Spin Resonance.
Established in 2005 as an university spin off from TU Bergakademie – The University of Resources, Freiberg Instruments devoted the first few years to develop and test a whole family of fast, nondestructive, electrical characterization tools under production conditions, measuring parameters like minority carrier lifetime, photoconductivity and resistivity.
MDP Microwave-Detected Photoconductivity:
The advanced method MDP is well suited for both, defect investigation by e.g. injection dependent minority carrier lifetime measurements, as well as mapping of wafers or even ingots for inline metrology. MDP has a variety of advantages in sensitivity, speed and resolution.
MD-PICTS is a modification of MDP, where temperature dependent measurements of the defect part of the transient are accomplished. This allows to do a spatial resolved defect characterization.
Hyper Tech is the world leader in manufacturing and R&D of magnesium diboride and niobium tin superconducting wire and integrated products. Hyper Tech’s innovative, patented wire drawing process enabled the company to be the first to manufacture viable long-length MgB2 wire. Hyper Tech has consistently integrated this technology into transforming products benefiting from superconducting materials. Superconductors carry high current with near zero ohmic loss. In coil form, such as in an electromagnet, a charged and closed loop can carry current, and hence magnetic field, for long periods of time (of the order of months to years depending on the detail design). This makes a superconductor ideal for high field magnets. It is commonly used in MRI and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) systems throughout the world. Hyper Tech is well equipped to produce two wire formed superconductors: MgB2 and Nb3Sn.
Science applications include particle bending magnets, high energy physics (HEP), and magnetic confinement fusion energy.
Since 1949, the JEOL legacy has been one of outstanding innovation in developing instruments used to advance scientific research and technology. JEOL has 60 years of expertise in the field of electron microscopy, more than 50 years in mass spectrometry and NMR spectrometry, and more than 40 years of e-beam lithography leadership.
JEOL USA, Inc., a wholly-owned subsidiary of JEOL Ltd. Japan, was incorporated in the United States in 1962. The primary business of JEOL USA is sales of new instruments and peripherals and support of a vast installed base of instruments throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico, and South America.
The JEOL USA organization is comprised of 300 employees, 180 of whom are field service personnel, for JEOL makes customer service and support a top priority. Additionally, applications specialists, technical support, sales and marketing, product management, training instructors, and administrative personnel are a committed team of people dedicated to making JEOL an outstanding supplier of scientific instruments.
JEOL USA headquarters are located in Peabody, Massachusetts, just north of Boston. The JEOL campus houses our Electron Optics and Analytical Instruments demonstration facilities, the JEOL Institute, the main parts depot and service center for the western hemisphere, and a manufacturing and software development facility. At this location, through the work of our engineering and software teams, JEOL USA has developed valuable enhancements suggested by our broad customer base and the proficiency of our in-house TEM, SEM, NMR, and MS experts.
